Share and Enjoy
As Social Media marketeers scratch their heads on how best to market themselves and their clients on Pinterest, one thing is for sure. There is definitely an increase in the number of competitions, prize giveaways, and bargain deals on the site.
A quick scan of #pinterest this afternoon revealed two household brand names offering us deals and competitions for using the platform. Moreover, one actually dedicated a blog page to Pinterest, advocating the platform (see below).
Sony Deals On Pinterest
It doesn’t get much bigger than Sony does it? Even better, their blog page actually states “we are big fans of Pinterest”, giving followers the chance to share the featured product and obtain a set amount of pins to unlock a special discount code.
“When we succeed in reaching our re-pin goal, the link on the pin will change to click-through to a new page where you’ll find the special code to redeem your deal. Sounds pretty doable, right? We hope so.”
Sony are running this deal for 4 consecutive weeks with different products such as the Cyber-shot® TX20 and the Walkman® Z Series on special offer each week. Better still, they are definitely suggesting that there will be more to come if the project is a success.
Best Western Giveaway
The well-known hotel chain were offering a $500 Best Western Travel Card under the caption “How to enjoy the traveling of travel”. Their Pinterest competition page asked followers to pin something to their boards, giving it the name of the competition, and then pasting the link back to Best Western:-
“In honor of Small Business Week, we are holding a contest where one person will win a $500 Best Western Travel Card! Share with us the things you enjoy while out on the road traveling for business. Whatever it is you do that helps you enjoy the time traveling, pin it to your board titled “How to Enjoy the Traveling, of Travel” and post a link to it in the comments with your name for a chance to win!”
These types of bargains and competitions are rapidly becoming the norm out in cyberspace and marketeers and digital agencies alike are starting to think of creative campaigns to push clients products and services.
Fingers crossed all you Pinners!!
